An unmistakable voice that helped shape the sound of contemporary African R&B, Afro-soul and alternative music.
Efya came up as one of Ghana's most distinctive voices and built the career the hard way: live performance, honest storytelling, and a fearless approach to sound. R&B, soul, jazz, Highlife and contemporary African music, all pulled into something that's unmistakably hers. Soft and vulnerable one minute, commanding the next.
From early records including “Best In Me”, “Little Things”, “Getaway”, “One of Your Own” and “Until the Dawn”, to “Radar”, “Catch the Feeling” and the No More Tears EP, she keeps evolving without losing the musicianship and vocal excellence that made her one of Africa's most respected singers in the first place.
Royal Albert Hall. Wembley Arena. Indigo at The O2. AfroFuture, One Africa Music Fest, Palmwine Festival. In March 2026 she joined Sarkodie as a special guest at London's Royal Albert Hall, one more time Ghanaian artistry walked onto a world stage.
Her collaborations cut across generations and genres, Wizkid on “Daddy Yo” being the one everybody knows, and a new generation of singers from the continent will tell you she's an influence. Off the mic, she has worked with MTN, GLO and Jägermeister, and built initiatives for African women and creatives.
2026 is a new chapter. After more than a decade of music, touring and growing in public, this one is about love, womanhood, joy, surrender, rebirth, and the freedom that comes with knowing exactly who you are.
